What keeps me from buying this lamp that I lust over?  And what keeps me from going in to these antiques stores that are right in my backyard?

Society continues its relentless attack on people who don’t fit some magazine cover photo shoot of rock-hard abs, sexy abs and protein shakes.

It took some pushing from my family and some prodding from my husband, but they taught me that perserverance is the key to moving forward in any endeavor.

The first few days on the calorie restricted diet were the hardest for me. There was the necessary math to learn; how many calories, fats, carbs, etc., I was allowed to consume. Since my regular diet allows more protein, even with all the vegetables and fruits I was eating, by day 3 I was feeling a bit light-headed and very hungry.

Last week when rumors started to come out that Deen has been covering up a Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis, Deen remained silent.  The Huffington Post then reported that Deen agreed to talk exclusively with Al Roker on The Today Show on Tuesday about the rumors.

In the interest of not sounding cocky, I must admit that I do respect many folks who have a few (or several) years on me in life. But let’s face it, age doesn’t necessarily give somebody the answers.

Since last week was all about finding a new you, this week the Outsider gets back to business. This week, the nation looks to the sky to see if the Almighty Creator of the Universe’s plan for this fallen, poverty stricken, disease ridden planet involves the Denver Broncos winning some football games. And science may have finally discovered something that is either incredibly useful or just incredibly pointless.
