Apparently, Russell Brand (pop star Katy Perry’s fiance) was arrested on Friday for fighting with the paparazzi at LAX.
Here is the statement from the Los Angeles Airport Police: “ About 1:50 pm today, Los Angeles Airport Police responded to Terminal 5 to a report of battery involving a celebrity and a commercial photographer. (That would be a fancy way to say “paparazzi). The victim involved placed the suspect (Russell Brand) under private person’s arrest. Airport Police took the suspect into custody for Penal Code Section 242--battery. He will be booked at the LAPD Pacific Division station.
Well, one has to wonder, what the hell happened that caused Brand to get his panties is such a bunch? Of course, it was over the leading lady in his life, Katy Perry.
The Teenage Dream tweets: “If you cross the line and try and put a lens up my dress, my fiance will do his job and protect me.”
Brand has since been released from jail after posting $20,000 bond. The comic is charged with a misdemeanor for simple battery and is due in court October 15.
So, ladies and gentlemen, what have we learned?
- It is not okay to try a get a crotch shot. Those things have to be organic. Like the way Britney Spears exits a car so gracefully. You just have to be in the right place at the right time for the magic to occur.
- Beating up a paparazzi will get you arrested...by the paparazzi.
- Defending your lover’s honor never goes out of style...even if it lands you a court date.
