....Their Crime? Too Much Fun, Apparently!
A Chinese computer science professor, Ma Yaohai, 53, has been jailed for three and a half years for running a sex club; this marks the first time in 20 years someone has actually gotten in trouble for being involved in “group licentiousness.” He pleaded not guilty to holding orgies and is planning on appealing, states the official China News Service.
“People chose to do it of their own free will and they knew they could stop at any time,” he stated. “We disturbed no one.”
Ma also told the media at a news conference back in April at his house where most of his “swinging games” were held, “what we did, we did for our own happiness.”
Wow, there’s an idea. People of their own free will engaging in consensual activity in the privacy of someone’s home expecting to not get arrested. What were they thinking? Big Brother is everywhere, apparently!
Ma started this swing group back in 2007 and people partook in the festivities from all walks of life. There were office workers, sales clerks and taxi drivers, amongst them.
“Marriage is like water. You have to drink it. Swinging is like a cup of wine. You can drink it if you like. If you don’t like it, don’t drink it.”
Spoken like a true sexually liberated person!
Eighteen people were charged with indulging in Ma’s parties and were sentenced for up to two and a half years in jail.
“Ma received a more severe punishment because he did not admit the malicious and illegal nature of his conduct,” stated the eastern Nanjing court.
I looked up the definition of the word “malicious” which is the adjective form of “malice”. Malice derives from the 14th century Latin word malitia, from malus. It has two definitions:
1. desire to cause pain, injury or distress to another.
2. intent to commit an unlawful act or cause harm without legal justification or excuse.
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but where is the pain and injury caused? All of the people involved were consenting adults looking to spice up their Saturday nights. Where is the harm? This was in a private home, no children were exposed, no animals harmed in the making of this orgy...so where is the crime?
This case has created quite a buzz over the necessity of this law even being on the books. Is “group licentiousness” really worth jail time?
“If no one is being harmed, people’s privacy should be protected,” states one sociologist.
However, not everyone agrees. Others found Ma’s behavior to be despicable.
“Law is based on respect for traditional customs and civilized ethics,” said a columnist named Zhi Feng on www.xinghuanet.com. “They confounded right and wrong and poisoned the social atmosphere. How dare you say they did no harm to others?”
Oh calm down, Zhi Feng! Don’t get your panties in such a bunch! If these people hadn’t of been busted, you would never have even known their little party was happening. Maybe you’re just upset you weren’t invited!

“Marriage is like water. You have to drink it. Swinging is like a cup of wine….”
Ya, but ‘wine’ sometimes stains the carpet. Probably very likely in this guy’s house
And would a threesome meet the requirements of group licentiousness? What’s the minimum teamwork on this Civilization-Ending transgression?

Good point? What are the requirements for being socially detrimental?
