Speaking with Nicole Daedome, founder of One Taste, is always an exciting adventure. Her sex-positive speech on increasing your pleasure and your partner’s pleasure through OM techniques is always incredibly insightful. In this interview, we discuss her upcoming events and seminars, as well as what new, exciting ventures on the horizon for her. She is truly a powerful trailblazer and I feel so fortunate to speak with her on the incredible benefits of a healthy sex life.
Natalie: Since the last time we have chatted, are there any new seminars or retreats happening on the West Coast in the upcoming weeks?
Nicole: I will be teaching an OM class in LA oct 14. For anyone who isn’t familiar with OM, it is a practice I call ‘Orgasmic Meditation’. It will enhance your pleasure and deepen your understanding of your sexual power in bed. The class in LA is going to be so cool. Whenever I go to a new city, I notice how people are thirsty for something real. I see the need for saturating, nourishing connections to one another. It’s like we are a fast food nation, we are a fast sex nation. My goal is to bring more awareness to sex and increase the pleasure we have during sex.
Natalie: What will you be teaching during this class?
Nicole: We basically go through the fundamental elements of the practice and the philosophy behind it. I teach people how to reconnect with their desires, learning to ask for what you want and then learning to receive what you want. We also touch on fundamental underlying elements before moving into practice. Then, we hand out pencils with erasers to work on what the right type of pressure is to apply to the female body. They head back to their hotel rooms to try out the practice.
Natalie: What happens after they come back from their exploratory session?
Nicole: So many people are just blown away by what they experience when OMing together. A lot of questions are asked and we talk about how to extend the practice into life. We talk about how they are going to build a practice in their lives. They fill out forms to remember what they learned. All religion and spiritual practices are created, I believe, to help us remember those deepest things that we already know. I want people’s epiphanies to continue into their real lives. The OM practice becomes their teacher.
The practice is a lot like yoga in the fact that the practice adjusts you.
Natalie: I heard that you are having a couples’ retreat in San Francisco on October 21-23. Can you tell twoday’s readers about what a retreat involves?
Nicole: Couples’ retreats last from Friday to Sunday. In a couples’ retreat, we talk more about relating to one another based in desire. Make your partner the first person in your life that you tell your desires to. Have everything that happens in your life an opportunity to become more intimate.
We also have workshops for both men and women to learn to reconnect with one another. It is so weird that we really are so different from each other and through the workshops we learn to communicate more efficiently with one another.
Natalie: What are some of the topics and lessons taught at these retreats?
Nicole: We teach how to extend the practice of OM into the rest of your sex life. We teach actual sex practices. One of the primary ideas is that women really determine the temperature in a relationship. You really need to fill her up with desire. If she is filled up, things will happen naturally and organically. If you unleash a woman’s desire in that way, then you can access her inner pleasure. Do what you want and do it fully.
Natalie: Can you be more specific?
Nicole: In terms of performing oral sex on a man, for example, think of this statement:
On him, from her, for her pleasure.
Most women have no idea that there is an area in the back of the throat that is as sensitive as the clitoris. You can actually create a conduit from your throat to your genitals that is totally electric in such a way that is his pleasure is a by-product of your pleasure, instead of the idea of you trying to please him. Learning how to draw pleasure from your experience for your own pleasure. It doesn’t have to be an obligation.
Natalie: That is amazing advice! Do you have any upcoming projects that you are excited about and want to share?
Nicole: I am meeting with game creators to create an online game forum to assist in the material we are teaching at the seminars and retreats. It will give people access to the information in a totally different way. Sort of a “choose your own adventure” as you learn the outcomes of different choices that you make. Let’s you create that mind-body connection even through the internet. Games were the first way we found that bridge this gap. I saw pain and I looked around and I knew I could resolve it. You can’t have that kind of realization and not want to help. It’s very exciting!
