There have been rumors flying around for years that Travolta’s 19 year-long marriage to Kelly Preston is a sham and that he is secretly gay. Well, not so secretly if Robert Randolph has anything to say about it. Randolph had given The National Enquirer some juicy tidbits from his upcoming book, which will expose “the underground secret world of celebrity gay spa sex” in Hollywood.
Randolph told The Enquirer that he has witnessed Travolta getting down and dirty with several men at several different spas in LA. He even claims that Travolta wanted to hook up with him.
“I met John in 1998, after he had married Kelly. I believe the marriage is a total fraud because John is totally into guys and has been having sex with them behind Kelly’s back for years. He came on to me a number of times. I always turned him down. But, there was always some guy who was willing to have sex with him. And John didn’t stop cheating on Kelly after either of their children was born. John’s a cheating dog. It’s just been wrong, because his wife seems like such a sweet woman,” states Randolph.
Now, before you dismiss this as someone just looking to drum up publicity for his salacious book, he did pass a lie detector test before The Enquirer interviewed him.
He also claims that, “John’s secret gay life is one of Hollywood’s worst kept secrets. He blatantly cruises guys, and doesn’t seem to care who sees him. I saw him with his lover and he couldn’t get enough. John should come out of the closet already and stop living a lie. His wife Kelly deserves so much better.”
Here’s where it gets really scandalous, though. Since the article ran in The Enquirer, Randolph has received 6 emails from men who claim that they also have hooked up with Travolta and is expected to get 50 more. Randolph released this statement to The Enquirer:
“I have no doubt that John Travolta is a sex addict. I’ve heard from many men who have either had gay sex with John or saw him having gay sex in health spas, steam rooms, locker rooms, you name it. I’ve gotten so many emails that I’m writing a second book titled: ‘Tracking Travolta’ and I’ve got plenty of material.”
First of all, does this news really surprise anyone? Isn’t everyone in Hollywood hiding in the closet? I feel sorry for Travolta and his wife if these rumors are true. Obviously, I feel bad for her if she really has been clueless to his indiscretions all these years. If she’s known about it, it’s sad that this is the life she has chosen for herself. How awful it would be to be a part of a sham marriage; only an outward sunny projection of an ideal situation that doesn’t exist.
It’s sad that he felt the need to hide his true self this whole time, but I can understand it. He came from a generation of actors that (regardless what their real sexual orientation was) if they wanted to be successful, they would have to play it straight. I don’t know if much has really changed in Hollywood, but I do believe that actors are slowly feeling more comfortable in their own skin, and more comfortable being honest about who they are.
Travolta will probably never come out of the closet, short of someone releasing a sex video (eww). I wonder how much someone’s sexual orientation really has to do with their ability to be an A-List star? Does likability outweigh sexuality? Only time (and our collectively open minds) will tell.

Its hard to say if his wife knew or not. Marriages come in all shapes and colors. Maybe they had an understanding in which he got what he wanted (sex on the down low) and she got what she wanted (movie star money!)

Maybe… although I read another report that said she was FREAKING OUT over these allegations. People can really hide who they are if they try. Plus, she had a family to raise and he traveled so much without her, I could see how one could be lost in the dark.
