According to Two Guys from Georgia....
This video is pretty hilarious, and really disturbing at the same time. Basically, a couple of guys from Georgia have their panties in a bunch because Elton John said recently in an interview in Parade magazine Jesus was a gay man. Here is the exact quote:
“I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.”
These lovely men from Georgia have taken this quote and focused (of course) on Elton’s belief that Jesus was a homosexual, or as they call it, a “homofaggot” (very clever) and have decided to picket outside of Elton John’s apartment in Atlanta that he shares with his long time lover.
The video opens with the man speaking about what perverts homosexuals are, and how they have perverted sex with eachother. Once again, are gay guys the ONLY ones having anal sex? I think not! Check out any porn site to find the contrary! These religious extremists seem so fixated on the act of anal sex, it makes you wonder if they don’t want a little somethin’-somethin’ in their trunk...I’m just sayin’! The lady doth protest too much, methinks!
Also in the video, these extremists are seen holding up a sign saying “Elton John MUST die” Hebrews 9:27. Correct me if I am wrong, and I know I haven’t read the bible word for word...but I don’t recall Elton John’s name being in there? It’s a wordy book, yes, but I think I would remember reading something about this flamboyant, talented singer!
The video starts to get really interesting when some security officer comes over and explains that you can’t stand in the middle of a street, holding a sign that is making a terroristic threat, and not get into trouble. The men argue with him for a while, claiming they have the law of the lord on their side, but since he isn’t around, it seems the law of the land takes precedent and the men are encouraged to either take their terroristic threats elsewhere, or get arrested. They claim they were protected by law under first amendment rights, but the security officer kindly reminds them that once they direct it at a person, it is considered inflammatory and is NO LONGER protected.
Neal Horsely (the guy with the sign) was later arrested for making said terroristic threats and is in jail being held on $40,000 bond. His son, Nathan Horsely, gladly took the cause up after his dad was incarcerated, and speaks of the security guards being “effeminate” and that he wasn’t projecting that on them at all! No, of course not!
What’s even more bizarre to me, was that I don’t really understand the point? Ok, so let’s just go with this “logic” (I use that term loosely in this case) and say that Elton John did make a bad move in calling Jesus a gay man. So what? If, what Neal says is true, then their God will smite him and he will burn in hell forever. So, isn’t that punishment enough? Why do they have to be outside holding a sign? Are they trying to get God’s attention or something? If God was that pissed off about this situation, don’t you think he would know about it already and lightning bolt Elton John dead? (Or something that dramatic?) It seems to me that Neal and his son are more upset that their god hasn’t show his anger towards Elton, therefore, they must show it for him. And, if god isn’t angry about this, does this disprove that bible verse? Isn’t there something else in the bible about he who is without sin cast the first stone? I guess this week, it’s pick and choose your favorite bible verses and use them against people who are different from you!
Wait...that seems to be their theme every week.....

Does this video ever speak for the sad state of education in America today, and how fundamentalist religion has had a hand in its fall to such depths of ignorance and intolerance, to say nothing of the potential for dangerous actions on the part of believers.

The guy says “I’m not making any threat”, and he’s holding a sign that says, “Elton John Must Die”. Incredibly stupid logic.

You know how family names often change and shorten over generations. but are derived from traits of the original family members?
Like, “Smith” comes from Blacksmith.
I’m guessing Horsely is a shortened form of Horse’s Ass.
