Do Sexy Dance Moves Impress Women?

According to a study at Northumbria University in the UK, psychologists have discovered that like our other friends in the animal kingdom in which males often perform intricate mating dances for females, a strong male dancer has a much better chance of getting the girl.

The study involved 19 male volunteers between the ages of 18-35 who danced around to a basic rhythm while 3D motion-capture technology was utilized to create ‘avatar’ figures dancing. These figures were then shown to women who rated them as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ dancers.

Dr. Nick Neave, the lead researcher of this study, explained that such dance moves may be representative of a man’s reproductive quality. Thus, the better the dancer, the more likely he is stronger, healthier and more vigorous.  Subconsciously to women, this may indicate a better sexual match.

“This is the first study to show objectively what differentiates a good dancer from a bad one. Men all over the world will be interested to know what moves they can throw to attract women.”

But, what constitutes a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ dancer? Apparently, it all comes down to 8 variables. This includes how fast the volunteers moved their right knee, how well they moved their trunk, left shoulder, wrist and neck.

Females preferred dancers who had “large and varied movements involving the neck and trunk,” according to Dr. Neave.

“We know know which area of the body females are looking at when they are making a judgment about male dance attractiveness. If a man knows what the key moves are, he can get some training and improve his chances of attracting a female through his dance style.” Dr. Neave continued.

Researchers believe that varied movement of the upper body, neck and head demonstrates to women how much stamina, flexibility and strength the man has. This will influence her decision when choosing to mate.

After watching the video, I had to agree. When you compare the ‘good moves’ to the ‘bad’ ones, there is a clear difference in confidence, strength and stamina. One male was bouncing around, moving his arms and torso, seemingly having a great time. His positive energy was apparent even as an avatar. But, the other male was sluggish, he kept his head down, showing his lack of confidence, and he hardly moved around. This indicated his lack of self awareness and lack of self esteem.

When it comes down to it, wouldn’t you rather be in bed with someone who likes to move their body, looks in control of their movements and seems to enjoy the dance? It’s a no brainer.

I think both styles look moronic (and painfully white).

This proves once again how sad, desperate and pathetic men really are. Poor guys everywhere are going to see some glimmer of hope in the endless mini-Greek tragedy of “Approach Girl, Shot Down, Crash and Burn.”

Yes, but I understand the science behind it and how one does seem more virile than the other.
