Like a lot of women, I was taught growing up that my life would not be complete until I found a man, got married, and had babies. However, my life didn’t quite turn out that way.

“Good things come to those who wait”… or do they?

When it comes to marriage, some couples take their sweet time making that commitment, while others jump right in! Are you a girl holding out for a promise of “till death do us part” – or maybe your man is ready to walk down the aisle, and you would rather take some time to feel things out.

Your friend just told you about a great guy she wants to set you up with. She tells you about his awesome sense of humor and he’s – hooray – best friends with her boyfriend!

Imagine the potential for double dates and couples’ trips! You reluctantly agree; you hate blind dates, but too late - the time is set: Tuesday at 3 pm you will meet this “great guy” for a coffee downtown.

“What’s his name?” you ask before you rush home to your computer.

(Maybe you even Google him right there on your iPhone.)

A new twist on internet dating...

A while back, I wrote an article for Betty Confidential about the concept of asexuality and how people within this community are often ostracized from the mainstream population.

Most people question why someone wouldn’t want to have sex. And, since certain people don’t want to have sex, is there ever a chance for them to have a long-lasting, romantic love and an emotionally intimate relationship?

Don’t sex and intimacy go hand in hand?

Breaking up is hard to do...so you might as well cash in....

I have gotten advice questions in the past from women and men who ended their relationship with their future partner and weren’t quite sure what to do with the bling that went along with it.

In the world of celebrity weddings and celebrity divorces, we are bombarded with images of over-the-top engagement rings and outrageous divorce settlements. But, what happens when you don’t actually walk down the aisle? Should you keep the ring, or give back the bling?

Think outside the cuff....

For more than one month, 24-year-old Jason Dean, (never trust a man with two first names, my grandma always told me) had been pining for his co-worker, identified only as Rebecca, 18. She was so uncomfortable with his unwanted advances, that she even switched her work shifts around to avoid being harassed by him.

In my ever present quest for insanity within popular culture to comment on (it’s not a quest so much as I wake up every morning, turn on the news and go “oh, well that works”) I have come across a story that, surprisingly, gives me mixed feelings.

Grieving Widow Addicted to Eating Husband’s Ashes

A woman gripped by grief...

I have been hearing about this particular episode on TLC’s, My Strange Addiction, for a few days now and was not going to blog about it because it seemed wrong to exploit a woman who is truly saddened and lost after the sudden death of her husband. But, the more I thought about it, I wondered, maybe there is something we can all identify with in this tragic tale of loss.
