Michele Bachmann Compares Homosexuality to Bondage

Posted by Natalie on Thu, 14.07.11 at 04:26PM in In the News LGBTQ news Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

There are no words. Bachmann is a plague of hate. Why does she care so much about the gay and lesbian community? She is so filled with homophobia and bigotry. I don’t understand why she is so scared? It’s not like you can “catch” homosexuality. She makes it sound like a disease that needs to be wiped out...which (naturally) is worrisome.

New York 6th (and Largest) State to Legalize Gay Marriage

Change can be a beautiful thing!

I was surprised, to say the least, when I read that New York had become the 6th state to recognize same-sex marriage. In a nation that seems torn apart by social issues, it was refreshing to see that the United States can still continue to progress, even in an atmosphere that is less-than-ideal.

That’s reason enough to get glittered...

I don’t know if any of you heard the saga that involved Bachmann claiming to be held against her will by a lesbian and an ex-nun, but if you haven’t, I suggest you read on. It is quite the un-story.

Hate speech doesn’t get you far in Hollywood...

I’m sure most of you are aware of Tracy Morgan’s recent sexist and homophobic rant that he went on earlier last week while “entertaining” people at a comedy club. Well, his stand-up “comedy” was filled with women-bashing (which, by the way, has been overlooked by the media) and gay-bashing.

Here is a taste of what he said at his show:

“We’ve decided not to share Storm’s sex for now---a tribute to freedom and choice in place of limitation, a stand up to what the world could become in Storm’s lifetime (a more progressive place?...)

This is the birth announcement to family and friends of Kathy Witterick, 38, and David Stocker, 39. Witterick is a full-time mom while Stocker teaches at City View Alternative.

They are a couple from Canada who have two sons, Jazz, 5, and Kio, 2, who have decided (for now) to keep their newest edition’s sex under wraps. Storm, now 4 months old, does not have ambiguous genitalia, but his parents don’t want s/he to feel confined within the parameters of gender.

Do Gay People Have a Responsibility to “Come Out”?

According to Rachel Maddow, yes they do!

Openly gay political analyst and host of MSNBC’s popular nightly news show, “The Rachel Maddow Show”, is not holding back when asked if she feels any frustration towards a specific well-known news anchor who is assumed to be gay but has never publicly acknowledged it.

Here’s what she had to say:

Titillating Facts About What Our Searches of Internet Porn Says About Human Sexuality…

Changing your perception one search at a time...

A new book entitled, A Billion Wicked Thoughts, by Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam, explores people’s online porn preferences and digs deep into what it means for human sexuality by utilizing data collected from search engines like AOL and Dogpile and porn sites like PornHub and Fantasti.cc. They analyzed a billion web searches, a million web sites, a million erotic videos, a million erotic stories, millions of personal ads and tens of thousands of digitized romance novels. Wow. Guess they didn’t sleep much.

J.Crew Image Showing Boy with Painted Pink Toenails Has the Media in a Gender-Identity Tizzy

The question is, why do they care so much?

Jenna Lyons, J.Crew’s brand president and resident lead designer, has started quite the controversy. She posted a picture of her and her son having fun together, painting his toenails hot pink. The photo, which was part of the regular Jenna’s Pick’s, was titled “Saturday with Jenna”.

The caption under the photo says, “Lucky for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink. Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.”

Pray the Gay Away?

Because, baby you were born this way....so you better pray!

Oprah Winfrey’s new channel, OWN, seemed to be off to a sluggish start, but their new series ‘Our America with Lisa Ling’ sounds rather promising. Ling will be exploring the United States and the diverse peoples and cultures that live within our borders. One topic of interest from her new show that aired last night on OWN was “Pray the Gay Away?

Iowa Grandma Speaks Out in Favor of Marriage Equality

Posted by Natalie on Thu, 17.02.11 at 12:55PM in In the News LGBTQ news Love Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

This video really touched me and I thought I would share it with you. I also have family roots in Iowa and was saddened by the latest news that Iowa had recently passed a constitutional ban (are they really allowed to do this?) on gay marriage, civil unions and domestic partnership. GOP Rep. Anderson even stated that legalizing gay marriage will like lead to legalized polygamy and incest, which is an incredibly ignorant view to hold, as well as not true.

Dr. Phil Doesn’t Want Boys to Play with Barbies

Posted by Natalie on Mon, 07.02.11 at 02:39PM in Celeb relationships In the News LGBTQ news Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

It may “confuse” them...

Dr. Phil is worried for all the young boys out there who are playing with Barbies or who have an interest in dolls. He doesn’t want them to be “confused”. I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume “confused” means “gay”. He suggests to a mother to “direct” her son away from the “girl” toys and clothes and to buy him “boy” toys and clothes.
