In Verona, Italy, there is a voluntary club known as the Juliet club, also known as The Club di Giulietta. It has been around for a long time, promoting the legend of Romeo and Juliet, the image of Verona, as well as handling cultural events and Juliet’s correspondences.

What do you mean by correspondences? So glad you asked! This organization answers thousands of letters that pour in from all over the world addressed to the world’s most famous romantic heroine. The letters are addressed to Juliet (think of this as Santa letters for lovers). Juliet’s secretaries read thousands of letters and write back with support and advice. Sometimes, people write just to vent about love, express how they feel about love, or just want to talk about the greatest force in the world.

Great story from http://www.msnbc.com! A decision was made by a high school in Rome to install condom vending machines has set off angry Catholics in Italy, who claim that this move will encourage young people to have sex. Rome’s mayor says it is sending the youth the wrong message.

What message would that be? Have safe sex? How dare they!

But, the Keplero school says that they don’t care if the Catholics get their panties in a bunch, they are going to try out this experiment and see if if helps to curb teen pregnancy and the spread of STIs.

Wow, a school standing up to the church in the name of all that is rational? America could look to them as visionaries!

“This is not about stimulating the use of condoms or intercourse,” Antonio Panaccione, the school headmaster, told The Associated Press. “On the contrary, it’s about prevention and education.”

I don’t know how many of you have been following this story, but I think it is very interesting and telling of the mentality of some in this country. Quick recap:

Constance McMillen, an 18 year old girl from Mississippi high school (Itawamba Agricultural High School) wanted to bring her girlfriend (yes, they are lesbians) to the prom. She came out in 8th grade and wanted to wear a tux to the event. She asked school officials and they said NO, you can’t bring your girlfriend. It has turned into a major shit storm! Well, obviously this really upset the kids at the school and they have been threatening and mean to her since the incident.

Not only was she not allowed to bring a girl to the prom, the school said she couldn’t wear a tux. What is this, 1954? Well, the ACLU got involved when Constance (who, by the way is really brave for being so open) took up her case and then the school canceled the prom. Well, obviously this really upset the kids at the school and they have been threatening and mean to her since the incident. McMillen states:

There was an awesome article from http://www.thestreet.com that talked about this renowned  San Francisco-based retail shop called, Good Vibrations, which offers information on sexuality and fun toys for adults. They are announcing their quarterly partnership with Clitoraid (best name ever) as part of their giving initiative, GiVe.

Here’s what they are doing: This summer, Good Vibrations’ customers can do something really awesome for women who have suffered from the horrifying aftermath of female genital mutilation. FGM is an absolutely abhorrent “procedure” that takes place on young girls (usually 6 or 7) in which some or most of their clitoris is removed, usually sawed off with a dull knife or rock. The girl is stitched up after, usually goes into shock from the pain, and wakes up hours later bleeding, unable to urinate, having issues with her urinary and reproductive tracts for the rest of her life, and never will be able to enjoy sex. Sound like a nightmare? It is. And it happens to millions and millions of healthy little girls every year.

Clitoraid, a non-profit humanitarian organization, is here to help! They are offering women reconstructive surgery (free of charge, of course) to ease the pain they feel and allow they to enjoy sex.

I wasn’t going to do another Tiger blog, but this interview was just too good to pass up.

I was reading some gossip about him online this morning, and I loved this quote from a “source” close to Tiger and Elin: “She wears a chastity belt made of spikes. They are not living together as a couple. They are putting on a charade for their children.”

This is what I love about http://www.foxnews.com. They really go after the tough stories. A London woman named Livvy Thompson, 25, was trying to get her boyfriend, Dan Dinapoli, 25, to tone up and to exercise with her. So, she decided, the best way to do that would be invent an iPhone app that could measure how  many calories you burn off while having sex!

So, I haven’t done a celeb-themed blog in a while, basically because, well, celebs are becoming more and more boring to me. However, I have always loved me some Sandra Bullock and I always will. Which is why I felt compelled to blog about the fact that her (soon-to-be) ex-hubby Jesse James (she should have known he was trouble just from the name) is a total dirt bag for messing around on my Sandy.

Apparently, a few days after winning Best Actress at the Oscars, Sandra received a phone call saying that shit was about to hit the fan, as a tattoo model named Michelle “Bombshell” McGee claimed to have slept with Jesse for eleven months while Sandra was away in Atlanta, GA filming her Oscar winning performance for The Blind Side.

I think we have reached a point where we have to start asking ourselves, is someone else’s personal belief infringing on my life? And, the answer to that would be, DUH.

According to http://www.reuters.com, a British pair was caught publicly kissing (how utterly scandalous) in Dubai and now they face up to a month in jail in the Gulf Arab emirate for indecency after Dubai’s version of a soccer mom apparently claimed that her son had to witness said act and told his flabbergasted mother about it! Oh, the horror!
